Florida Prepaid College Program

The Florida Prepaid College Plan can be utilized at TSC. The Florida Prepaid College Plan tuition contract covers the tuition, or "registration fees," at universities and community colleges.

How It Works

The Florida Prepaid College Plan will issue documentation to the beneficiary to give to TSC at registration and fee payment. The student will be responsible for all fees not covered by the plan by the published fee payment due date. The College will then bill the program for the tuition costs covered by the student's plan after the term's last drop/add date.

Florida Prepaid College Plan Options

The Florida Prepaid College Plan offers three different tuition plans, including a dormitory plan that is not applicable at TSC.

If students are also eligible for Florida Bright Futures Scholarship, account owners may choose one of the options below:

• Option 1: The account owner may use the originally planned Florida Prepaid College Plan benefits. The college or university will issue a check to the student for the scholarship. The student may then use these funds to offset expenses not covered by the Prepaid contract.
• Option 2: The account owner may transfer the contract to a family member of the original beneficiary; however, plan benefits may not be transferred in the same year usage occurred.
• Option 3: The account owner may request a scholarship refund and receive an amount equal to the current rates for state university fees paid semester-by-semester.

How to Activate Your Plan

Your Florida Prepaid Plan will automatically activate in Workday based on the Social Security Number in your Admissions and Records file. Be aware that you may still owe fees that Florida Prepaid does not cover.

*If the Social Security Number does not match the one you have on file with Florida Prepaid, your plan will not activate. In this case, you must contact Florida Prepaid or TSC Admissions and Records to correct the error.

Some families choose to opt out of using their Florida Prepaid plan at TSC, choosing to save their plan benefits for the university level.

How to Opt-Out of Using Your Plan

If you want to opt out, you must follow these steps:

1. Log in to Workday
2. Go to the Student Finance Hub
3. Select "Create Request"
4. Under "Request Type", select "Request Types by Workday Object," then select "Request to Opt-Out of Using My Florida Prepaid Plan"
5. Click "Ok"
6. Enter the information requested and click "Submit"

You will need to do this every term you are enrolled at TSC.
