TSC Forensics Team Wins 25th National Sweepstakes Award

April 24, 2025

The Tallahassee State College (TSC) Forensics Team continues its remarkable legacy of success, earning its 25th consecutive team sweepstakes award at the Phi Rho Pi National Tournament for two-year institutions. Competing in the prestigious Wheeler Division, TSC brought home Bronze in the Overall Team Sweepstakes and Silver in the Individual Events Team Sweepstakes.

Notably, six team members advanced to the elimination rounds in ten events. Leading the way were David Blair and Trevor Waller, who placed gold in duo interpretation, and Olivia Shull, who earned gold in dramatic interpretation. Jackson Chmielewski, Natalie Gordon, and Pamela Healy also advanced to win silver and bronze awards.

“This year’s team has demonstrated exceptional tenacity and work ethic over the course of the season. Eight of our twelve core team members were freshmen and first-year competitors,” said John Schultz, Director of Forensics. “For this group to beat all the Florida universities, and state colleges, and to repeat as regional champs is very impressive.”

This national achievement follows an already stellar season for the TSC Forensics Team, which also claimed overall team sweepstakes championships at the Florida state tournaments for two-year and four-year colleges, and the Phi Rho Pi Regional Tournament.
