Tallahassee Community College’s Division of Workforce Development announces a new partnership with The Blockchain Academy. This partnership will provide cutting edge curriculum, labs, and instructional support to establish TCC as a leading source of blockchain education, certification, and job opportunities for salaries up to $200,000 in Florida and surrounding states.
“I see non-stop crypto and blockchain news, reports, and press releases, but not enough legitimate education programs,” said Jessica Griffin, Director of Continuing Workforce Education at TCC. “Which is why we’re excited to announce business, industry, and development programs for those seeking to make it in the blockchain technology sector.”
Blockchain is a record keeping technology which allows transactions such as bitcoin and cryptocurrency to be transferred collectively as a secure entity across a specified network.
“Blockchain technology excites me to no end, but as a workforce expert, I worry a lot,” said Ryan Williams, Executive Director at The Blockchain Academy. “Blockchain eliminates the middleman or the need for trust between two parties or peers. It is our job to equip those interested with the skills required to navigate emerging technologies and the opportunities they bring.”
The benefits of this new partnership include:
- TCC and The Blockchain Academy partnership provide Floridians, both existing students and upskilling professionals, the most comprehensive blockchain program catalog in the state.
- Certification programs prepare graduates for $75,000 to $200,000 salaries from the Sunshine State’s 120 commercial banks overseeing $195 billion in assets, and 18 international banks with U.S. headquarters in Florida’s.
- Industry-specific professionals in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare, Supply Chain, Insurance, and other industries benefit from programs designed to address their specific industries’ challenges and existing use cases for blockchain technology.
“Channeling the future is what we are committed to doing here at TCC,” said Kimberly A. Moore, Vice President for Workforce Innovation and TCC2WORK. “We recognize that we must be nimble and responsive to meeting the changing needs of workforce head-on and this is one example of that commitment being carried out.”
